Despite not becoming available until May 21, Amazon has temporarily halted preorders for Wii Fit due to incredible demand. The online retailer explained that Nintendo’s upcoming exercise experience has been listed as unavailable in order to: “provide as many customers as possible with the opportunity to purchase Wii Fit.”

The post makes it clear that this situation is only temporary, and that preorders are not necessarily cut off, as the company has stated that they are continuing to seek more copies from suppliers. Judging from the speed in which the product has already sold out on Amazon, and general mass market hype surrounding the title, you’re likely to lose a few pounds running from store to store in search of it. Or, if you’re lazy and only want to exercise with videogames, just keep checking back for updates on Wii Fit’s status on Amazon.
