It seems E3 has already suffered its first major non attendee for this year’s event. One of the biggest publishers in the industry has backed out from this year’s E3 event. Activision, who published the likes of Call of Duty 4 and Guitar Hero 3, said:
"After careful consideration, for business reasons Activision has decided not to participate in any official E3 activities. We wish the ESA best of luck with the show."
This means the likes of Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4 won’t be making an appearance at this year’s expo but that doesn’t mean you won’t see them at all. Activision could always pull their own event. With E3 already shrinking it doesn’t bold well for the future of the event. Let’s hope other publishers don’t back out, which would mean certain death of what once was the industry event of the year.
