After countless delays Mercenaries 2 developers Pandemic studios, who if you may remember were bought along with Mass Effect developers Bioware for a reported $860,000,000 by EA Sports, have finally pencilled down a release date for their action sequel. August 31st is when you will be able to get your hands on this very-long in development action packed, sandbox-style guns blazing shooter. You live by one rule in this world, If you see it, you can buy it, steal it, or blow the living crap out of it. Includes one-player and co-op modes and a host of new weapons and toys. Mercenaries 2 will hit Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and PC.
Second up is gangster sandbox Grand Theft Auto clone sequel Saints Row 2. Although a blatant copy of the GTA series,Saints Row was still in its own right a very good sandbox game. Originally available on the Xbox 360, Saints Row 2 will be Available on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this summer on August 26th. Saints Row 2 has you heading back to the same city as before Stilwater but expect it bigger, better and filled up with even more guns. THQ have also promised a better online experience with even online Co-op. The Grand Theft Auto series may have to watch its back.
Lastly is LucasArts Star Wars Title,Star Wars: Force Unleashed. The in-house developed game is schedules for release, after initially been touted for a November 2007 release, in America on the 16th September, 19th September for Europe and 17th September for Asia and Australia. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed puts players in the sinister black leather boots of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice and is on a mission to destroy the remaining Jedi Knights, Set in-between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. LucasArts very own internal studio is taking care of the PS3/360 versions while Krome Studios handle the Wii, PS2 and PSP with n-space taking care of the DS version.
