Kotaku.com recently had the chance to speak with Harmonix’s Kasson Crooker, who shared some information on the future of Rock Band, including the possibility of custom tracks. Crooker did not say that this feature will happen, but when discussing the iPod game Phase that allows users to import and play custom tracks, Crooker exclaimed adamantly that the same technology could be applied to Rock Band. VP of product development Greg LoPiccolo also expressed his interest in the feature saying: “We continue to talk about this possibility. I can’t commit to such a thing at this point, but would love to tackle it if we could find a way.”
In order to get the ball rolling on this new feature, LoPiccolo said that it would take both EA and MTV’s approval. He also gave a few more teases about the future of Rock Band, stating that Harmonix is currently working on improvements for the game, as well as a few surprises that nobody will expect, but promises they will “kick ass.”
