It was recently reported that the Nintendo National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has received an Emmy for its advances in engineering creativity. This is the second year in a row that Nintendo has had the honor of walking home with this award.
The award selection mostly had to do with the Nintendo Wii’s innovation, specifically their motion sensing controls which have made gaming stretch to more casual gamers. But not only the Wii was included in this award, the award also made mention of the Nintendo DS for “its pioneering touch-screen control scheme and distinctive dual-screen display”.
While receiving the award Nintendo Executive Vice President of Operations Don James had the following to say:
“The pioneering interfaces for Wii and Nintendo DS reflect our long tradition of seeking new ways to enhance the gaming experience for users at every level. We are grateful for this award and thank the academy for honoring us a second time”
However, this is not the end. As many gamers already know, Nintendo is going beyond this to introduce innovation in other areas of the Wii. Once released, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit will being into the playing field the Wireless Wii racing Wheel and the Wii Balance Board.
More information to come as it is released.
