Remember when one of the big selling points of Grand Theft Auto IV was that the Xbox 360 version would be getting exclusive DLC? It’s impossible to know how many users were swung toward buying Microsoft’s version based on that promise, but here we are, seven months later, and we’re still waiting for the promised content. According to Rockstar’s Dan Houser, we might have to wait even longer.
When asked about a release date for the DLC, Hauser couldn’t really commit to anything, stating:
"I’m not sure. It’s going well. But we don’t know a date. We hope to be announcing that in the next few weeks. We’re still figuring out a few things. We’re more focused on quality than dates, always have been. But the development is going really good. It’s shaping up to be something we’re very proud of. That was our goal."
This comes not long after Microsoft inadvertantely announced that the DLC would be ready in the fall--possibly November. Those statements were quickly refuted by Rockstar, who basically said that the content would be done when it is done, but it was obvious that the pressure to deliver before the new year was on. For now though, the release date of this new content continues to be "someday," and we are left wondering if by the time it comes out GTA IV will still even be relevant.
