If you are a Nintendo Wii owner who prefers Rock Band to Guitar Hero, you may not have to wait as long as predicted. With rumors circulating that Rock Band 2 for the Wii could either be released as early as next month, or as late as January, an MTV PR representative has clarified the matter.

The rep told Destructoid that Rock Band 2 will ship for the Wii in late December.

Some music game fans who are Wii owners have already taken up Guitar Hero World Tour, which hit stores last Sunday, perhaps because of the fear that Rock Band would be delayed much longer, with no release date in sight. It looks as though the fanboys that are holding out may be able to obtain the game by Christmas, though there’s still no release date. If you are looking forward to this release for the Wii, you should pencil it in on your wish list, though tentatively.
