When the tracklist for Rock Band 2 was announced, Harmonix made it very clear that in addition to the 84 on-disc tracks, there would also be twenty free songs to download. When the game was released, many customers were concerned that there were not only no free songs to download, but also no announcement of when they would be available or even what songs they would be. The lid has been lifted, and the full 20-pack has now been announced. It is as follows:

The 88 - "Sons and Daughters"
Authority Zero - "No Regrets"
Between the Buried and Me - "Prequel To The Sequel"
The Cab - "Bounce"
The Chevelles - "Get It On"
The Cocktail Slippers - "Give It To Me"
Dealership - "Database Corrupted"
Endeverafter - "I Wanna Be Your Man"
The Ghost Hounds - "Ashes To Fire"
Hollywood Undead - "Young"
Kutless - "The Feeling"
The Len Price 3 - "If I Ain’t Got You"
Lesley Roy - "I’m Gone, I’m Going"
Opiate for the Masses - "Burn You Down"
Semi-Precious Weapons - "Magnetic Baby"
Shaimus - "Like a Fool"
Thenewno2" - Crazy Tuesday"
Tickle Me Pink - "The Time Is Wrong"
Underoath - "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures"
X Japan - "I.V."

Many were speculating that the songs would be held back and released on the same date as Guitar Hero: World Tour to help combat Neversoft’s rival game. However, this will not be the case. The twenty pack will be available to download for free on November 4th for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and immediately for the Wii upon the game’s release.

The pack may look disappointing to many, as most of the bands are not household names. Give the songs a listen before you snap to any judgments. They run the gamut of genres and at least one song should appeal to everyone, from the most hardcore thrasher to the happiest popster. Also, remember that these songs are free and optional. So, if you really are not a fan of free things, then by all means do not download these songs. The rest of us will surely be plugging in and rocking out to twenty new songs on November 4th.
