When you think of events with surprise game announcements you tend to cast your eye toward E3. This year definitely produced a bombshell when Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would appear on the Xbox 360, but it looks like TGS might have its own "wow" moment now. Unexpectedly, and without fanfare, Suda 51 has announced the sequel to the quirky Wii exclusive No More Heroes.

A brief trailer from the event shows game protagonist Travis Touchdown sporting a new beam katana preparing to do battle with a boss sporting a jetpack and six mechanical arms (each with a katana of their own). Fans of the original will likely consider this par for the course, as outlandish, over-the-top bosses are pretty much par for the course for No More Heroes.

Sadly, the trailer doesn’t offer us any other details, such as a release date or on what systems the new game will appear. We’ll go ahead and assume that this one will show up on the Wii once more, and hopefully it will make use of the new Wii MotionPlus attachment for super-realistic beam katana action. We’ll keep you up to date with more info on No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle as it becomes available.
