If there’s one thing Media Molecule wants you to know about LittleBigPlanet, it’s that the game is all about the community. The designers have already hinted that they may be willing to hire some of the best John Q. Public game designers to work on their team, and now they’re upping the ante by announcing a "create your own Sackboy" contest.

Entry to the contest couldn’t be easier, you just head over to the official site, draw your own Sackboy (or Sackgirl) on the provided template, and submit it for judging. One winner from each the US, Europe and Japan will be chosen, with the champion designs offered as free DLC in a future game update. So if you’re especially creative and want to share your vision with the world get to clicking!

While I probably won’t enter the content myself due to my chronically underdeveloped imagination, this is still a very cool contest that really shows Media Molecule’s committment to the fans. They’ve continually promised that the game is really all about the fans, and this is just yet another display of them putting their money where their mouth is and inviting everyone out there to show what they can do. Here’s hoping this inclusive approach pays dividends, allowing more games to take this more consumer-friendly track in the future.
