Roogoo Heading to Wii and DS
Posted by James Barr, 131 days ago Jul 17, 2008 17:52

SouthPeak Games have today announced that Roogoo, formally on the Xbox Live Arcade, will arrive on Nintendo consoles, Wii and DS, this winter. This Roogoo will feature Wii & DS cross-compatibility, new levels, and new game modes that take advantage of the Wiimote and touch screen functionality of the Nintendo DS.

"Roogoo is a perfect fit for Nintendo gamers," said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. "It’s a great family-friendly puzzler with fantastic gameplay that can take advantage of the unique offering of these two systems. We’re very excited about making Roogoo part of the Nintendo lineup later this year."

Using the Wii remote players can now rotate platforms, capture pieces, and stop the evil Meemoos in entirely new ways. Up to four players can play co-operative and party play.

“The Nintendo DS version boasts the same 3D gameplay that utilizes both screens," Mroz continued, "along with new levels, backgrounds and puzzle shapes unique to the handheld. Owners of both the DS and Wii versions will have access to unique gameplay modes utilizing the DS as a controller for the Wii which adds to the challenge and fun.”

Roogoo will be coming out later this year but for the meantime why don’t you check out the screenshots for the Nintendo Wii and DS versions of the game?
