During the Nintendo E3 press conference, new details emerged for Animal Crossing: City Folk. There are no required goals in the Wii version: Nintendo wants the player to do their own thing, their own way. I couldn’t help get the feel that this Animal Crossing is looking more like an MMO game, as even when the console is switched off, the animals will still get up in the morning and go back to bed at night, adding a real sense of real-time action within the game.
Included in City Folk is the addition of the City, complete with an auction house to buy or sell items, Happy Room Academy where you can stay current with other players, and if you really fancy it, change your appearance in the Beauty Salon and even put on a your own Mii face. With this game comes a brand new peripheral Wiispeak, a microphone that you put on top of your TV that allows a room full of people to speak to other players while playing City Folk online. With this new Wiispeak and other community features, Nintendo seems really focused on a community feel with this Animal Crossing.
