On a recent episode of the PS Nation podcast, Mark Healey of Media Molecule was more than happy to talk about LittleBigPlanet. Specifically, he got to talking about what features are going to be included in the game, as well as how Sony will deal with an questionable content stemming from the user-generated levels.

On the single player front, Healey promised that "a whole heap" of levels will come already programmed into the game, and that these levels will be used to tell a very "loose" story. For anyone worried that all the game would be is a big, empty level creator, have no fear as Media Molecule is looking out for the less creative among us.

Of course, most people who play the game are going to want to create their own levels and share them with the world, and we all know that there are some folks out there who are a bit more immature than others. Healey promises that there will be a grievance system in place, so anyone who is offended by a level can take a screenshot and send it off to the higher powers, who will delete any inappropriate content. This will obviously be an important restraint, because if there’s anything that the Spore creature creator has taught us, it’s that people are really just in a race to make the most creative penis possible.

The other big news coming out of the interview is that anyone with a Playstation Eye can put pictures in the game. In an example, Healey mentioned that you might put a cardboard box on your character and then slap a sticker of your face on it so that "you have a little creepy version of yourself walking around in the game." Creepy versions of me wandering about? Sign me up!

Sony is hinging a lot of its holiday hopes on LittleBigPlanet, so they’re making sure it gets loaded down with features. So far, it seems like they’ve got nothing to worry about, as the game is only sounding better and better with every new announcement.
