Peter Moore absolutely loves Rock Band; he adores every little thing about it. From the strumming and drumming to the singing and swinging, he just can’t get enough of pretending to be a rock star. The thing is, Moore has never truly understood just how important Rock Band is. At least, until now.
Speaking about going over to the Hard Rock Cafe in Munich to unwind after some meetings, Moore recalls, "There were a hundred of us and it was like a real rock concert. It was a blast. I stood back and I thought about this incredible cultural phenomenon... The crowd were going wild, but all we were doing was playing on toy guitars, toy drums and singing badly into a microphone... And I said, ’Boy, this product is going to change the way we think about games.’"
So congrats Peter Moore, for having the same epiphany we’ve all had when surrounded by a room of friends and absolutely nailing "Run to the Hills." Rock Band is probably the single greatest thing to happen to social gaming since the advent of multiplayer. The joy of starting a band, whether it be in your living room or over the network, and proceeding to go on a tear playing through some of the best songs of the past four decades is quite an experience indeed.
So get out there and shift some paradigms, Mr. Moore, Rock Band 2 is on the way.
